Chapter in ‘Geographical Aesthetics’ volume

A chapter that I wrote some time ago recently went through the proofs stage and will come out in the edited collection Geographical Aesthetics edited by Harriet Hawkins and Libby Straughan. The chapter, ‘On Aisthêsis, “inner touch” and the aesthetics of the Moving body’, develops material from the How We Became Sensory-Motor research program, and will be revisited and expanded when it comes to writing the forthcoming sensory-motor book. The chapter has a more ‘social science’ take on some of the ideas to better fit with other chapters in the book; in fact, mine is the first chapter in the collection.

I used to be a colleague of Hattie, and Libby wrote a chapter for my co-edited collection Touching Space, Placing Touch. There are some fascinating chapters in there which I look forward to investigating further. The book will be out in February 2015 – my first 2015 publication!
